'Appreciate everything that comes and goes'

Sandra Cisnesros

I forgot to mention I got to meet the great chicana author, Sandra Cisneros. It is just so inspiring to know she is Hispanic. She makes me proud to be chicana. Not just Mexican but American too. Couldn’t love the Spanglish language even more. It is great to know we have someone that can represent us out there. Even though one of her books got banned or as she said “re-distributed” which means they aren’t in the classrooms anymore but they are just available in the libraries now, she said she’s going to work harder for them to get totally banned, why? because that only means if her book gets totally banned she is truly fighting for the Hispanics, and Arizona is not taking that. Not to mention she is so humble. I’m not much of a writer myself, however when it comes to opinionated writing I love it and the way she writes her stories are probably how I would write mine too. It’s such a great feeling to be able to relate and identify with this chicano culture. If anything I recommend everyone to take the time and read one of her books or her poems, not only hispanics but all people should read it  :)
